About Me:

Hi, I’m Calisha – a Mental Health Counselor-LP with over 17 years of experience in the mental health field. I’m certified as both a School Counselor and School Psychologist, and I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of life transitions, relationship challenges, and mental health concerns. I also previously served as an adjunct professor at Roberts Wesleyan University, where I taught in the School Counseling Master’s program.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked across a variety of settings, allowing me to develop a broad and practical perspective on emotional health. I’ve received specialized training in TIG (Trauma, Illness, and Grief), equipping me to offer compassionate, trauma-informed support to clients dealing with loss or significant life changes. I also facilitate the Child Safety Matters curriculum as part of my continued work in community mental health and advocacy.

My therapeutic approach is solution-focused, strengths-based, and collaborative. I believe counseling should be purposeful and empowering—a place to gain insight, build momentum, and move forward with clarity and confidence. I specialize in working with adults and couples who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or navigating anxiety, burnout, or major life transitions.

I draw on a range of evidence-based modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Attachment Theory. I’m also trained in TIG (Trauma, Illness, and Grief), and use biofeedback to support clients in managing anxiety by increasing awareness of their body’s physiological stress responses. Whether we’re addressing stress, relational patterns, or emotional regulation, I tailor treatment to your goals and pace.

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy exploring the Finger Lakes, upcycling vintage home goods, and tackling home improvement projects. I believe in living intentionally, staying curious, and continuing to grow-and I bring those same values into my work with clients. If you’re ready for meaningful change, I’d be honored to support you.
